Here are Day 5 pictures finally! There aren't many at all, but that's because this is the day I moved into my dorm...and that trip and hauling our suitcases took forever and was not fun - so there are no pictures until the point that we started to enjoy everything again :o)

Day 5 was Sunday, so we were able to sleep in and take our time getting everything together. Then we took all our stuff and moved me into my dorm at Columbia University. We hadn't traveled north of Central Park yet, so the whole area was new. Columbia is outside of Central Park, but right above the northwest corner. We ended up taking the right subway to Columbia, but really could have taken an even better one. The one we took dropped us off on a side of Columbia that required us to have to climb never-ending stairs...with 4 pieces of luggage! Basically, I would have never made it without Scott since he practically carried the 3 big ones.

So we finally made it up all the stairs, unpacked my bags and cooled off, and finally got on my computer and had internet access!! Scott looked online for a hotel for the rest of his stay, so once we were ready again, we took his suitcase, found the closer subway, and finally started the fun stuff.

This is the entrance to my dorm

Another view of the entrance - I will take better pictures soon to show my room and stuff

Once we left Columbia, we first went to check Scott into his hotel. It was pretty much straight down the west side of Central Park, at the corner by the Time Warner Building.

This picture is completely random and funny - it was a Sunday afternoon and this couple was just walking the streets of New York

This is the inside of Scott's hotel lobby. It was such a cool place! To get to it, we had to go up an escalator and the rigt side of this picture is where you get to.

This is of the escalators...the right side of the picture above.

This is the view over the check-in counter. It's their open restaurant that looks out onto the Hudson River

This is the main hallway where the elevators to the rooms are

We are going down the escalator now - to Central Park finally!

Walking right outside his hotel - the backside of the Time Warner buildings

The southwest corner of Central Park!

We finally made it - and it was gorgeous!

Then we came across the weirdest thing! There was a park of the street/walkway that blocked off, and it was all these people on rollerskates having the best time ever. But they were either dancing with someone else on their skates, or they were excersing...it was really strange to see!

Then we came to this fountain - we didn't know where we were going or where we were...so I'm still not sure of what this is

And we finally made it up to the reservoir and walked around a short side of it

After this I didn't take anymore pictures - but we left Central Park and went to dinner, then just walked around random streets. I also went to bed somewhat early since the next morning was my first day of working!!
